Book Review: Three By Kristen Simmons⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hey Guys it Jamari from ReadGeekx3 here with another book review. Sorry about the delay for this review but I’ve been caught up with school and other things lately and I’ve been too busy to post a lot of anything lately.

THREE-final1

Synopsis:

Ember Miller and Chase Jennings are ready to stop running. After weeks spent in hiding as two of the Bureau of Reformation’s most wanted criminals, they have finally arrived at the safe house, where they hope to live a safe and quiet existence.

And all that’s left is smoking ruins.

Devastated by the demolition of their last hope, Ember and Chase follow the only thing left to them—tracks leading away from the wreckage. The only sign that there may have been survivors.

With their high profile, they know they can’t stay out in the open for long. They take shelter in the wilderness and amidst the ruins of abandoned cities as they follow the tracks down the coast, eventually finding refugees from the destroyed safe house. Among them is someone from Chase’s past—someone he never thought he’d see again.

Banding together, they search for a place to hide, aiming for a settlement a few of them have heard about…a settlement that is rumored to house the nebulous organization known as Three. The very group that has provided Ember with a tiny ray of hope ever since she was first forced on the run.

Three is responsible for the huge network of underground safe houses and resistance groups across the country. And they may offer Ember her only chance at telling the world her story.

At fighting back.

So this review is on Three by Kristen Simmons which is the third and final book in the Article 5 Series.  So instead of me summarizing it to you like I usually do, I’m going to explain the things I enjoyed about the book.

First, I really like the fast pace of the book. Kristen Simmons does a great job with keeping the story fast-paced and excited in every way.

Second, I really loved the relationship between Ember and Chase, I thought every moment they were together on the page was a memorable moment and I really love how she developed their relationship since the first book, because in the first book, when Chase helped the soldiers take her mother ways, she was very angry and frustrated at him and through out that book you could see how her emotions toward him start to grow again to what it was before and the way on how it ends up in this book it amazing. With this being said, Ember and Chase are one of my top 7 favorite YA couples! The list includes:

  1. Tris and Tobias – Divergent
  2. Katniss and Peeta – The Hunger Games
  3. June and Day – Legend
  4. Harry and Ginny – Harry Potter
  5. Clary and Jace – The Mortal Instruments
  6. Hazel and Augustus – The Fault in our Stars
  7. Chase and Ember – Article 5

Lastly, I love how the entire arc of the story builds up as it comes to a conclusive end in the final pages of the novel. Like some last books in a series the conclusion is usually the thing to bring the story and fans down. But there are some final books that keep readers drawn all the way until the very end and that is exactly what this book did.

I give this book⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars! I think Kristen Simmons is a fantastic writer and I really enjoyed reading her Article 5 Series! Down below is a photo of the page Kristen Autographed when I met her at a writing workshop at UCF!

Hey it’s Jamari here, from ReadGeekx3 here with another book review! This review is for Article 5 by Kristen Simmons! Kristen Simmons is the first author I’ve ever met. I first met her at a writing convention for UCF, where she came in and answered questions we asked and gave me an autographed and free copy of Three (The third book in The Article 5 Series). Since then, I had a busy list of books to read and I didn’t have enough time to read the series yet until now!

The book is set in a world three days after the war where the government has completely eradicated the Bill of Rights and replaced them with a new set of laws called “The Moral Statues“. The book starts off with Seventeen year old Ember Miller coming home from school with her two best friends. Then all of a sudden, soldiers come to her house to arrest her mother for violating Article 5, and article which states:

“Children are considered valid citizens when conceived by a married man and wife. All other children are to be removed from the home and subjected to rehabilitative procedures.” – Moral Statues Document.

Ember is then taken to a reformatory by soldiers with a heartbroken feeling of being separated from her mother, and knowing that Chase Jennings (her best friend and crush that disappeared for a long time) was a soldier that helped them arrest her mother.

I enjoyed this book a lot! I thought it was well written and was full of action and adventure! I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars! I completely recommend this book to readers who love Dystopian fiction and who like  The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth and The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu.

I am currently about to reading the second book in the trilogy, Breaking Point, and I can’t wait to see how the series unfolds from there! That’s all for now! Check for more posts soon!
